Nichecom Calibration and Repair Laboratory

With the retirement of the last of Nichecoms first generation of managers, HV Power have formed Nichecom (2026) Limited to take over the Wellington Nichecom business. Nichecom includes an ISO accredited calibration laboratory already used by many power utility customers, plus an equipment repair facility.

Nichecom are also the New Zealand distributors for Microchip products, while HV Power are the New Zealand distributors for Microchip’s 'Tekron' range. (Tekron was an independent New Zealand producer of GPS clocks for the power industry until its purchase by Microchip in 2020). The common Microchip representation between HV Power and Nichecom is one of the drivers for this new arrangement.

Mike Strong the CEO for HV Power says 'the synergies of HV Power and Nichecom operating in alliance will bring huge benefits to both companies and our shared customer base'.

Nichecom will continue to operate as an independent company from the same Tawa location, with HV Power helping them expand their business into the power utility market.
